Adult ADHD Assessments in General Practice

Recent changes now allow trained GPs in New Zealand to assess and initiate treatment for adult ADHD. Ranolf Medical Centre does not currently provide ADHD assessment or treatment initiation services. Patients concerned about ADHD are encouraged to book a routine consultation to discuss symptoms and referral options.

We have updated our prescribing and controlled drug policies to reflect changes in national regulations and best practice. These policies explain how repeat prescriptions are managed, when medication reviews are required, and how higher risk medicines are prescribed and monitored. The updates aim to support safe, consistent care and help patients understand what to expect when requesting prescriptions.

Flu vaccination is now FREE for all children aged 6 months to under 5 years.From 1 September 2026, all tamariki aged 6 months until they turn 5 are eligible for a funded flu vaccination.Young children can become particularly unwell with influenza, and this change will help give our youngest patients extra protection.Because the flu season started later than usual this year, influenza is still circulating in our community — so it’s not too late to get protected.Contact our team to book your child’s free flu vaccination.Please feel free to share this with whānau who may not know about the new eligibility. ...
